The Innovaction Gym at Tec de Monterrey, Monterrey Campus, LABNL Lab Cultural Ciudadano in collaboration with the University of Leeds (England) and with the support of Experience Point, organize Frugal Hacks 4 Climate Change - Women’s Edition (FH4CC), an initiative aimed at promoting continuous education and collaborative participation among women with a focus on climate change resilience. Through participation in workshops, masterclasses, and a hackathon, the participants will expand and strengthen their knowledge and skills in design, frugal innovation, and the environment, while collectively designing innovative and accessible solutions to address the challenges of climate change in resource-limited settings.

FH4CC is made possible thanks to the Researcher Challenges Grants initiative by the British Council, designed to promote cooperation between higher education institutions in Mexico and the United Kingdom, thereby supporting the continuous education of research groups with a focus on women's resilience to climate change. This call is part of Going Global Partnerships, a program by the same organization that supports universities and other educational sectors worldwide to work together for stronger, more equitable, inclusive, and internationally connected higher education.

How does climate change impact women?
According to UN Women, the climate crisis is not gender-neutral. Women and girls suffer the greatest impacts of climate change, as existing inequalities are amplified and specific threats to their lives, health, and security arise. In many parts of the world, women depend more on natural resources, as they bear a greater responsibility for obtaining water, food, and other supplies at the household and community level. However, it is women who “are driving climate solutions at all levels: as farmers, workers, consumers, household managers, activists, leaders, and entrepreneurs.” Given their important role in managing natural resources, organizing and developing their communities, and being at the frontline of the climate crisis, women are in an exceptional position to be agents of change and contribute to the development of climate change mitigation strategies.
In this context, the invitation to participate in the FH4CC program arises.
